There are no complimentary international upgrades, only domestic ones on AA. Because this is a full Y fare, I believe it goes to the top of the priority list for domestic upgrades, and if I am not mistaken it beats even EXP status on the priority list. After Y fares, I think the priority is by status (EXP, Plat, and then Gold), and within each status it goes by booking date (the earlier the better).
