I always check their booking first, and it's still a high percentage who aren't. I think the word "executive" can intimidate some people. When I ask, some say "but I'm not an executive I work in a shop/bar/office"

No matter what hotel, airline I fly. I always make sure I'm a member. Last summer I was checking in to a Lhr hotel. There queue was massive due to a cancelled 747. 60 people in front. I walked right to the desk advised I was a member and didn't have to wait. Never stayed with that company before. But it certainly helped being a member. I joined whilst I was in the queue.
