On the flip side, BA are the only European carrier to have stuck with SAN, established the only permanent, non-stop link to Europe and nurtured it through thick and thin to today when we now see them as the only 747 passenger operator into SAN.

I think more people would be appreciative of that dedication than the fact one or two perceived the aircraft as "old."
