It looks like the ticket has been issued (ticket number in the e-mail). Will there be problems at the airport if my wife can't produce the credit card in her name?
If this was booked on ba.com then the reservation has been set up as first party and the e ticket issued on that basis. It is possible that the card may be required at check in and if it cannot be produced then normal procedure is to refund the original card and take payment from a card in the name of the traveller.
If you are within the 24hr cooling off period my strong recommendation would be to cancel then rebook taking care to tick the ' card holder not travelling " box.
