This is my first trip report. Please be patient and please excuse my English, I am Swiss. The report is about a Zeppelin flight I took last year.
I received the flight as a Christmas gift. You can buy different gift packages at a price depending on the duration of the flight. There are flights to St. Gallen, Switzerland and to the German and Swiss shore at the Lake of Constance as well to the southern part of Germany.
The reservation of the flight is made by phone. It is important to know that the flights only start in very very good weather – no wind!! In case of cancellation they contact you the day before to make a new reservation.
My flight was from Friedrichshafen on the German side of the Lake of Constance to St. Gallen, Switzerland and back, duration one hour. The flight took place in April 2015. Flights over St. Gallen are only possible during spring and autumn due to strong upwinds in summer.

From the ferry harbour Friedrichshafen it is a 10 minutes bus ride (bus no. 5) to the Zeppelin hangar. This hangar includes a very good restaurant and a small information desk.

There is a nice café near the “runway”.
Check in is very easy, there are only 12 passengers, no luggage. One hour before the flight you get an instruction about the Zeppelin and the security (no cigarette lighter on board!).

Boarding is some kind of funny as due to the balance two people have to leave the cabin before two can board. If there are no passengers to leave it is stabilized with water.

The seating is 6 on each side. Very big windows with a panorama window at the back. There is the possibility to open a small part of one window on each side for fotos.
The Zeppelin climbs very smooth and not too noisy. After about 5 minutes in flight we were allowed to “walk” around in the small cabin. We flew at about 600 meters above ground with a speed of about 80 kmh.

Cabin crew is one captain and a flight attendant (who said to be able to land the Zeppelin!)
