Not in the least. In the real world, life is not divided into people who want "more security" and people who want "less security" or between "paranoid" and "laid back". I am against the liquid restrictions in cabin luggage that are imposed, body scanners, needing to remove shoes, banning metal knives in airports and planes as is done in some countries, and many more of the things that we are going through every time that we travel at the moment.
However, I am an "if the behaviour seems odd, you need to try and figure out what is happening" person, which is quite different. And as it happens, if I see someone trying to get on a plane where they are not supposed to be, it seems distinctly odd to me.
When it comes to ensuring our safety, I simply trust people more than I trust machines. Believing that going through a metal detector or a body scanner means that a passenger presents no safety risk any more implies both a trust in machinery and processes, and a belief that we know what shape or form the next bomb will take that I unfortunately do not share.
