Will BA rebook me if I miss my connection [even without an inbound delay]?

I appreciate that this is a slightly odd question, but for context:

I am on the cusp of booking JNB-LHR-BHD with a tight connection at LHR (1hr 5 min) to avoid a 4hr 30 layover after an overnight flight. Given that the JNB-LHR leg is on an A380, I'm guessing it will end up in T5C - so there's an 'overland' sector to factor in ... as well as both parents in tow to slow the process down!

So, even if we hit the tarmac on time at 0525, it seems to me conceivable that we might not make it to the departure gate before 0615 with the various obstacles that stand in between.

Therefore, while I'd like to book this itinerary with what must be a 'legal' connection, since BA are offering it on a single PNR, I acknowledge that we might fail to get to the gate before it closes. Hence the question: if this happens despite an on-time arrival of the flight from JNB will BA move us onto the 0955 flight with no hassle? I'd really prefer not to book a definite 4.5hr layover...

Cheers
