My parents are landing at Mildenhall in Suffolk and driving to and around Scotland (mostly northern) for two weeks starting November 1st. I wanted to give my father some advice on their car rental. I remembered reading advice in this regard somewhere on the site but after a couple hours tonight have come up empty handed.
Anyways, my dad ideally wants something larger than a compact but smaller than a midsize if possible (gas mileage is important to him). Currently he's looking at a Hertz Ford Fiesta rental (he's Gold status) of ~$540 for two weeks, which seems somewhat high to me. Anyone have advice or can point me to a useful thread?
