Assuming yes, my guess would be that since the newer card has the same number but different expiry date, it should not be a major hassle. But if possible, would not hurt to hold onto the expired card and have it available when traveling just in case.
Agreed, card number will be same except last 4 digits in the event of new card issued to replace old one.
They will have on their records also that your last card expired. Also you may wish to keep hold of the old card until after the trip in case you are worried.
