Well this is all very strange. Regarding post 8 and BA's calculation of my refund on ba.com (which quoted £24.84), when I actually went to cancel the booking I was charged a £15 cancellation fee. That wasn't shown on the on screen page before, why did it suddenly get deducted?

This was cancelled 2 days before departure.
