Interesting point about the co-car - when I was a kid it was deemed as meaning you were "important". When I became a grown up it was considered a "rep"thing so not so good! Certainly when the option came to opt out of company cars most of us did!
Back on topic, I've noticed that sometimes poor quality or service is also forgiven because it's a reward or discounted ticket.
