I noticed that as well - when people post about their travel experience when they're unhappy with some aspect of it they seem to underline that they were on a paid fare. Probably because they think they deserve some kind of special treatment (or a medal?) for that? They probably are missing out on the fact that many many people do the same (pay cash for their ticket).
