Just wondered what these scams were. The usual low-level hassle is from chancers on the look-out for the gullible: grabbing bags and demanding tips for getting them on the scanner belt etc. You can sail through this with a polite but very clear refusal: you wouldn't hand your bags over to a pushy stranger at LHR, so why do so at CAI?

Or you could always fly with Egyptair from Cairo's T3, a more polished, less daunting environment.
