Even under the BA code, you can get F/P/A booking class on AA domestic services. It can happen when no business booking code is available.

For example I flew SFO-JFK-LHR-XXX-LHR-JFK-SFO, where on leg between SFO and JFK booked into I, the other into P. This was before it came a pure three class flight.
