All this talk got me to call the Diamond line today. Currently waitlisted for DTW-NRT on April 21. No change from the desk--said I was still on the waitlist and all is coded correctly. Seat Map shows about 25 or so seats left in F...hopefully that doesn't dry up before the 21st!
I'm almost amazed at what a non-exact science the process Revenue Management has to clear upgrades.. My flight cleared a month out and seats were literally disappearing daily on a heavy travel day for business travelers to NRT (maybe those were other GUCs)
