I was flying HSV - STL in January thru CLT. I was at the airport early and asked to standby for an earlier flight to CLT as I was wanting to work in the Admiral's Club. The gate agent wanted $75 to fly me earlier on a plane with plenty of open seats. I refused and hung out in HSV for my confirmed flight. Very stupid policy. They flew a plane with empty seats rather than make an elite customer happy.
