I did RAR, early this year in Feb

DON'T stay in any large resorts as I found that the people staying there seemed a little misreable... The only larger resort I would suggest is the Pacific Resort http://www.pacificresort.com/home.htm

I stayed at the Crown Beach Resort; http://www.crownbeach.com/ will ALWAYS stay there when I go back. Husband and Wife run the place very well... Owned by a Candian company; Just the way they run the place makes you want to go back.
The people who run it have regulars from Oz and NZ that will always come back.

Whatever you do, avoid the Edgewater and the Rarotongon Beach Resort

For the flight, NZ's 767's are fine, no issues (BTW: are they flying 737's on any of the RAR routes???) I flew in business class as well, service was good on both sectors i flew, LAX-RAR and RAR-AKL

I would suggest staying in Aitutaki as well for a few days. The Aitutaki Pearl Beach resort is wonderful... Air Rarotonga flies their every day (except Sundays)

Any other questions let me know

BTW: On the FRA-SIN routing, nothing to worry about, India and Pakistan's border conflict does not ride into their ATC control or overflights
