I used to regularly have the security staff openly ask for Baksheesh when putting my bag through the scanner, they also tried to claim that a bottle of aftershave was larger than 100ml and would need to be confiscated despite it being embossed on the bottle. On that trip it was amazing the amount of times they tried to claim cameras couldn't go in hand luggage.
As I say though, haven't seen that in my last 2 visits.
I had the Baksheesh request as well, only at the first security though (to get into the airport). They asked for my passport and boarding pass, and had a uniform too -- but those uniforms looked different than the ones I saw past security, so assumed it was a scam. I got through without showing my passport, so I guess it was!

In all honesty, I think you will probably have said goodbye to your phone for the last time but you never know, miracles do happen.

Thanks for the info, every bit helps. I suspect I've seen the last of that phone too.

I would change the password to all the sites that have an app with the credentials stored in.
Also, I think there is some issue right now at CAI that might make reaching the "lost and found" desk problematic:

Seriously? They want a beat-up Galaxy SII with a sticky home key?

I've seen locals with better phones than me...
Also, I actually lost the phone yesterday (28 March), and was busy making calls to the office yesterday and trying (in vain) to locate my phone. I haven't tried calling today, although I'd argue that the Lost & Found office wouldn't normally deal with a hijacking ?
