Phone left at gate in CAI

Good morning! I am looking for a bit of advice as to what to do with an item (phone) left at the gate in CAI.

I proceeded to my gate at CAI at boarding time to do security, etc. and there was someone checking boarding passes at the counter for everyone. When I got there, they said my mobile boarding pass wouldn't work with the scanner and proceeded to issue me a manually written boarding pass, then went through security.

In an absolute brain fart, I assumed they handed my phone back to me with my boarding pass and simply threw it back into my bag, and then proceeded to security. Boarding was already well underway so I decided to board first and then do my checklist to make sure I didn't lose anything at security.

I get on board and discover my phone is missing (doors not closed). I panic and ask if I can get off the plane and look, which the crew don't allow me to do. However, the crew offered to notify ground crew and help me look for it, but unfortunately it is "nowhere to be found".

1. Have I fallen victim to a very elaborate scam in CAI? After witnessing some very elaborate (attempted) scams on me outside the airport, I believed that an international airport would be exempt from some of the more convoluted ones...
2. Is there someone I can contact at CAI, such as a station manager? I have tried the phone lines for "Lost & Found" listed on the CAI website, but no one ever picks up, and calls to Egypt are pricey!
3. If I change my password on BA, will it automatically sign off the BA app on my lost/stolen phone? I've been monitoring activity (as it was a registered Android device) and it does not seem that the wifi was turned on at all after it left my hands.

Sorry for the long thread, but I wanted provide as much detail as possible
