Good to hear this, and it seems that the policy has changed. Because there was absolutely no reason in my mind being asked to queue up. I did query with the officer directing us to the counter, showing my passport and onward boarding pass at the time, and was politely shown the extended arm to the transfer desk.
Not a major issue, but it was frustrating timewasting exercise as far as I was concerned.
Again,I don't think has actually ever been a policy on a company level,rather someone being too proactive and silly...that said,it is obviously not an excuse for this kind of behavior from RJ,it is wasteful,silly and embarrassing and just kills the whole point of efficient transit (which I hope you did not have any other problems with,as AMM is really easy and quick to transit).
I will talk to the staff this week and find out what exactly is the deal with this and update the thread.
