Just b/c a CPA does your return, does not mean you are in the clear; your signature is also on that tax return. A CPA is not a tax lawyer.
I don't understand this comment. The IRS taxes income, not receipts. CPA and taxpayer are reporting correctly. For a million miles, its worth the inconvenience. No tax liability, you will win the audit and after the audit the IRS will levae you alone for a while.
