If you can get an American Express Platinum, the benefits that come with the card are enough to justify its annual fee which will get you Skyclub access when you're flying Delta. I do not think the club is worth paying for outright. I like Skyclubs, the agents are usually friendly, the food spread is pretty good and the free booze okay. But they do get quite crowded, especially at the hubs.
