Yes you can do this as you remain airside. If you went landside you wouldn't get back through security with liquids over 100ml.

LHR is my starting point yes want to buy at EDI airside, as they have good choices of Gin, and Dark rum there which cannot buy in LHR. Have no fear have already worked it out that we will take up plenty of towels to wrap up bottles, and then just wheel the case onto the aircraft back to LHR.
