I've re-read your post carefully, to see where I went wrong. You still appear to be suggesting strategic manipulation of travel (as an alternative to personal wealth) as the principal means of attaining FFP status.
My comment offered the peripatetic nature of our employment as a further, more likely, alternative. I might be wrong
