Should the crew run around and tell everyone watching movies on their iPad to pause them and wake up everyone who is sleeping before an announcement is made?
If you are seated, you are presumably already seatbelted, so the "seat belts, please" announcement is really more a "sit down, please". And that doesn't require stopping the IFE.
