I lived in Van for a few years. The favourite stuff for my visitors was:

1. Victoria by ferry
2. Victoria by floatplane from downtown
3. Drive up to Whistler for lunch
4. View from top of Grouse
5. Gastown
6. Shopping downtown for CD's and DVD's (great prices)
7. Wreck beach (be prepared)
8. Renting a boat out at Horseshoe Bay
9. Granville Island (market, bars, food)
10. Restaurants...(Van. has been best restaurant city in the world for several years running)
11. Not the nightlife.
