Why is the WestJet website worse than the iOS and Android apps?

My girlfriend booked a flight for me through Expedia and included my WestJet ID number.

Without any prompting these flights immediately appeared in the WestJet app on my iPhone and iPad, no more than a minute or two after she booked on Expedia the itinerary was on my iPhone. Out of curiosity I installed the Android app as well and there it was too.

However if I login to the website the only trips that show up are past flights I booked directly through WestJet or appear in the WestJet Rewards transaction summary. There is no trace of the recently booked flight and I can only see any information on it by entering the reservation number which redirects me to a completely static website that looks like it was made in 1994. If you don't know the reservation number there is no information on your flight to be found. I have to believe this has alarmed some people at some point.

Am I completely missing something or is this functionality that exists in the mobile applications just not available on the website?
