Balantyre and Wheatleigh are the two luxury venues cited most often in the area. I've poked around here at FT and have seen only a few mentions and nothing especially recent, nor comparing the two. Should I have missed something, I'm certain it will brought to my intention forthwith. Meanwhile, very interested in opinions of either hotel.

I may lean toward Balantyre due to its R&C affiliation.

This trip will take us also to Amherst (only 60 miles west and good autumn foliage along the way) to do the Emily Dickinson route. https://www.emilydickinsonmuseum.org/homestead

We could split our time between the two but that holds little appeal unless there is good reason.
