Yeah isn't that kind of the knock on TK - great food, but god forbid anything goes wrong with your itinerary?
I personally wouldn't do this. I'd look for earlier connections via VIE or BUD, for example, and overnight in one of those cities. I wouldn't want to clear immigration at IST just for the overnight connection. That's a mess.
