For my quoted example above, the DFW-HNL flight is 8 hours and it would be great to have wifi for 3+ of that flight.

First, the 763's are mainly used for international routes. They get supplemental runs domestically to keep their usage up but the main purpose is international.

On the DFW-HNL piece, if I need to keep in touch for those extra hours, I'll fly out of LAX so I can stay on email. On the way back, I'll always prefer the 763 from HNL-DFW so I can sleep in the much better seats.

I'd like WiFi on the 763's but AA is planning to retire them in the near future and a STC is pretty expensive.

What is the status of WiFi on the 787 fleet? Does it have sat wifi?
