BA has said that R does not earn either Avios or TPs. There is no contract in place yet for that class. Sometimes it comes, but sometimes it doesn't, like with the deeply discounted MH and RJ fares.

Caveat Emptor.

It can also just be a great fare for those in need of transport, not miles though.
