The problem is that $6,500 is 25% of your annual spend. You might do better with the combination of Blue Cash Everyday and Citi Double Cash. Don't be seduced by the 5% rate, calculate dollars per year. Remember also that there are other free cards which often offer 5% on the gasoline or supermarket category for a portion of the year. Look at Chase Freedom and Discover.
Good point, though for now I think I'll stick with the Old Blue Cash rather than making a change at this time as my spending is likely to rise quite a bit this year, and I expect to use the card quite a bit more for groceries.
I've just converted my old Citi Dividend card to the Double Rewards (terrible process with call center in the Philippines) and will use that for main spending after hitting $6,500 on the Old Blue Cash.
