This is one of the many confusing consequences of UA's poor implementation of trying to display per segment pricing instead of the minimum total trip price at each stage of the flight search.

I recommend one of the better flight search site, like Google Flights or ITA Software or Hipmunk.

No, you can book it, make the ICN/KIX connections, and be fine.
