United formerly told this life UC member that I'd expire in 2099. Looking to make a snarky comment in another thread, this new screen appeared for me. It implies that UA might follow the lead of Air Canada, Air New Zealand and (back in the day) US Airways of offering different UC levels based on regions.
Part of what makes the UC a better value than the AA, AS or DL clubs is that it offers access to nearly a thousand Star Alliance lounges. Making this an added cost feature, or removing it altogether, would be a significant dilution in product.
I hope is that Life members are grandfathered into the global product. When DL segmented SC memberships between basic and premium, they grandfathered life members as premium.
