This is interesting, but how does Fairmont treat someone without an AC connection, souperelite or not?

Also, many/most Fairmonts seem to participate in FHR or Virtuoso. Given this, does elite status (at whatever level, but not the three night special deals for AC elites) with Fairmont make much difference or is it even necessary for good treatment and good benefits? Are the FHR/Virtuoso rates so much higher that going through these programs isn't a good solution (for free breakfast, room upgrades, late checkout, and a property specific amenity in general)?
