As other posters have said, and the sticky tells you the whole thing of booking partner rewards with Virgin Atlantic Flying club points is a potentially frustrating affair - available seats on partner's planes do not seem to mean you can book them using VS points.

I would never recommend transferring points on a hope - unless you have a back up plan for them and no other possible way of using them. You can try ringing VS and if they guarantee availability, then go for it, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
