Pricing to outstations like YGK can be disproportionately expensive for the length of the flight, but as others have mentioned, this is nothing new. Ditto for many other stations with little/no direct competition like YZR. Price-conscious travelers will often take train or drive to a larger airport with more options. They seem to have enough people willing to pay the premium to fly into those smaller airports to make it worthwhile.

Does it make sense that it may cost more to add a <1 hour short hop on a DH1 or BEH than a trip to Europe? Maybe not. But that's the market price for service into some smaller markets. At least YGK has some more convenient options than some other markets with little/no competition.
