It was way, way better in the early 90s, before the reformulated a lot of their menu (including a change to a weird-tasting cheese sauce). IIRC, Taco Bell bought a lot of Del Taco's outlets in the eastern US, so they can be very hard to find unless you venture west.

I think they are more easily found in CA, but if you're in CA, why not go authentic?
