If JL says MCT is 2hr30 and your connecting time is less than that then they will refuse to tag the baggage through to UL. That being so you would need to go landside, claim, recheck and back to airside. I wouldn't want to risk that at PVG in ~ 2 hours.

And yes this is in the wrong forum - it should be in either the China forum or the JL forum.
