I get that from AC at SFO. I've never, ever, ever had it at a hotel. The difference? I've spent no more than 5 nights in any one hotel in my life. But I fly in and out of SFO on AC at least once a month.

Nor are Fairmont Platinum members, unless they've stayed at a property enough to know everyone.

I mean heck, I'm pretty sure you were on the side of the Palliser when they wouldn't let me eat dinner because I didn't have a reservation.

That is certainly not being "waited over like royalty".

That pretty much describes my experience at the Palliser.

Don't get me wrong, I like FPC. But you're describing your typical experience as being more than I've ever had, and we're both the same status.

Discounting service recovery, the best I've had from Fairmont is "Well, since you're just booking your room now, we obviously haven't left your amenity in it. Would you like us to send it up?" And don't get me wrong, I consider a lack of bad experiences to be pretty darn good for a hotel chain.
