As someone else said, if you negotiated a price on an item, felt happy and accepted it, then went home and found your neighbor got a better deal...would you go back and expect them to give you more?

It wouldn't hurt to try
I don't think I lost - $500 is just fine. Believe me if it wasn't I wouldn't be letting this go. It's actually a lesson learned in the game - don't enter an amount in the bid if you want to try to negotiate.
Two Questions: Is it not acceptable to ask a Red Coat a question regarding a situation and policy? If you find the red coat to be rude and unhelpful is it not acceptable to ask for his/her supervisor?
I must say I am somewhat bemused these responses. Perhaps I should go back a reread my OP - I think I may not have explained myself properly.
To clarify: Once I got to the red coat supervisor and he listened to me and responded to my questions without mouthing some formulaic BS at me and actually spoke to me like a human I thanked him for his time and was on my way. Again, maybe the original agent used a poor choice of words - not the end of the world. You shouldn't need to get to the second level of supervisor just to get a straight answer.
EDIT: Just reread OP - explained just fine. The above respondents are clearly in the DL apologist group.
