The comment about the seat row numbers and no crew being able to direct confused people to their seats, and that not being very "premium"... There are 3 cabin crew between where you are sat and the back of the plane. 1 MUST stay in the vicinity of Doors 4 and the other Doors 3, which leaves 1 crew member to sort out any other issues and problems in-between.
I agree about the room in WT, which is why I will refuse to fly on one as a passenger. However, most 787 operators have adopted the same 3-3-3 layout all be it some with increased leg room, some not.
Menus should NEVER be ON the seats, they should be handed to customers after boarding along with news papers and pre take off drinks.
Foils should always be left on the main hot meal in WT+, as it helps keep it hot. It we take it off, by the time you have opened your bread roll, buttered it, eaten your salad or whatever the starter is, it will have cooled. The foil helps to retain some of the heat. Be it "premium" or not.
As for the comments about the service. The service in WT+ on the 787 is crap. There are 4 crew for your cabin and all of Y, and because we HAVE to have 2 crew on each trolly, the service takes a long long time, and to be honest, most crew dislike working on the aircraft because it just adds to the already mounting complaints about the seat pitch/width and broken headset sockets because the seats are so narrow and the socket is in the arm for the headrests. Most trips on the 787 are not pleasant to work, in WT/+.
The thing on the cabin crews lapel was probably the small torch that we are all issued with. Small LED torch for use during night services.
The snacks, should have been available, they were loaded on my last YYC. The individual snack boxes are not provided on this flight though.
Others I don't know the answer to.
Thank you BBB as always for sharing crew procedures and insights. We were never provided any menus. Its a shame that crew hate serving on this route. I guess I'm surprised that most of the crew were 'older' would have thought with seniority they could aviod it. Hopefully snacks are loaded on the inbound. Would have tried to raid the club kitchen but alas we were roped off

what tends to make up the snack offerings for this flight?
