A few weeks back I rented car, one way, from a neighborhood Enterprise location in MA, returning at LGA, crediting to my Emerald Club account.

Upon arrival at LGA, very early in the morning the Enterprise location was still closed and I could not wait for them to open (didn't even consider that the location was not open 24 hours when I booked it). A manager who was unlocking the gate at the Enterprise location told me to return the car to the National location a few blocks away which I did. They checked me in, quickly realized my car was not a National car but an Enterprise car and said it would take some time to process, but I would get a receipt later that day with the proper return time noted. Sure enough, later that day I got my email receipt with the proper return time noted.

My question is, can one normally rent from a National airport location and return to an Enterprise neighborhood location?
