Assuming spending the money won't leave you hard up for general living, I'd go for it. It's very easy to get 5000TP for relatively little money if you've got time to travel off-peak and to wait for sales. You just keep an eye out for the ex-EU HNL specials, tickets like last year's Germany to HKG (via SIN) special, and even outright mistakes like the "Viking" fare that was honoured.
Most boringly, 3x DUB/SVG-HNL [1] for less than five grand will get you it, or there are more interesting options. You could also get an AONEx RTW from one of the cheap places and clock up a load of TP that way and see some interesting parts of the world.
Then it's F lounges and expanded Gold availability for your redemptions wherever you go.
Lifetime Gold may disappear within my lifetime, and maybe even yours, but I bet you'll get at least 5-10 years enjoyment out of it and likely more. LTG's target market is the sort of person who spends a working life with a choice of which carrier to get their premium business travel tickets from, so it's a long-term incentive for the very lucrative traveller (as you were).
