In general, yes. Also note that some partner bookings need to be confirmed by the partner (I don't know if CA is one of those), so it may not ticket right away anyway. However, since you can cancel any booking with no penalty within 24 hours, it can't hurt to try.
Thanks for the reply! I had thought about trying with possible cancellation if it does not work out, but want to make sure, can I cancel within 24 hour online myself (no need to call) and the miles will be deposited back right away (or relatively fast, say under another 24 hour)?
