Using the AY website I have booked HEL - HKG - SYD return.

On the way out, HKG - SYD is operated by CX.
On the way back, SYD - HKG is operated by QF.

When booking I knew that I would have trouble with codeshare seat selection and this is not a whinge - more of a "is there a way around this?" question.

I have read (not all ) of the citro thread and looked at:

"Ghost PNR" on BA/QF Codeshare + seating

I have tried MMB on AY website (will not enable seat selection on codeshare)
I have tried MMB on CX website (does not recognise PNR)
I have tried MMB on QF website - nearly successful for the QF segment but my seat selection would not "stick"

On none of the above can I see any ghost PNRs that I could use.

Does anyone have any helpful ideas apart from ringing AY up?
