Apparently, since the Hilton points devaluation back in 2013, there are no limitations or blackout dates on points bookings and AFAIK Hilton cards and associated certificates as well. I could be wrong though so maybe someone else can confirm this. You could send an email to HHonors USA (

Here is the information regarding the weekend night certificates:
-Promotional Rewards are not applicable for reservations booked under the 48-Hour Reservations Guarantee
-Available for Standard rooms only.
-Rewards are valid for 1 year from the Process Date.
-Rewards are valid for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night only.
-There are no points associated with this reward.
As long as there is a Standard room available you may use the certificate. Each certificate is good for one weekend night.
Relatively straightforward then...if a standard room is available you can grab it!
