Had a conference at the IBM Palisades conference center. They had a connected desktop in every room. On checkout, they apparently re-image the computer for security and maintenance.
I didn't use it, but I certainly use my laptop about half the time when I travel.
I suspect we're moving in the direction of in-room computers. I read that internet access in U.S. households had reached 75%.
My boss has a new scheme where he travels between offices with all his documents on a USB flash memory device.
Why not have onboard computers for airline passengers?
