Wait, another thing just struck me. I received full credit above and beyond on everything including all taxes, fees, and charges (which on this ticket amounted to over 18% of the price).

Are taxes, fees, and charges included in base miles calculation when purchasing on delta.com? Please remind me, as I have not purchased any full price tickets on delta.com since 2013…

Or would the Delta only pay up on the base fare ($1182 for this trip)?

Where I lost though, is the extra one mile per dollar spent Delta Amex bonus miles. Overall not big difference one way or the other...
