I am BAEC Silver / Oneworld Sapphire, travelling LHR-BOS in BA Club, then BOS-LAX in AA First. Need to buy a connecting flight still for LAX-SMF, ideally in simple CHOICE hand luggage only fare.

Called AA reg hand luggage allowance and they said 3 checked pieces of luggage are free for Oneworld Sapphire on these fares, but I am not convinced this is correct.

Also been told, I can check my luggage through to SMF from Boston despite being on a separate ticket, but will be charged a change fee if i miss connection in LAX, which sound fair enough.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Have you already purchased your BOS-LAX ticket? How many bags do you want to check from BOS through to SMF, two or three?
